PhotoShip One brings you the 3X Pro v2. The lightest 3 axis camera gimbal (1.3lb - 590g) capable of carrying cameras as large as a Canon 5D/7D or even the Panasonic AF100.
The 3X Pro v2 is an improved design of the 3X Pro v1 which was designed by PhotoShip One in late 2009. The 3X Pro v2 is a 3 axis camera mount system. The pan, tilt, and roll axis are controllable via a standard RC airplane/helicopter controller. The 3X Pro v2 uses RC servos (included) which are controlled via pulse width modulation (pwm) with a sweep of 900us-2100us. The servos are 360 degree modified for continuous rotation. We have two servo options available (standard & Spektrum H6040)
The pan & tilt axis are gear driven with a 5:1 gear ratio for smooth motion. Roll axis is belt driven with 6:1 gear ratio. Adjustable gear mesh on pan/tilt allows for slop free, low backlash setting.
The roll arch rides inside of eight precision flange bearings. There is zero play or slop in the roll axis.

Roll travel is 30 degrees either side of horizontal. Pan & tilt are continuous 360 degree rotation. The camera tray is adjustable vertically (about 25mm) to match the camera center of mass with the tilt axis of the camera gimbal.
The 3X Pro is built from fiberglas composite plate, aluminum, carbon fiber, plastic, & steel. It is a very strong, yet very light camera gimbal.
Recommended camera weight should be no more than 5lb (2.2kg) when the camera is properly balanced in the camera tray.

The 3X Pro is most commonly used with the Align Trex 700E helicopter. We have a package specifically designed for the Trex 700E whcih includes the front mounting system (tubes, dampers, hardware, etc) and is a direct bolt on to the Trex 700E, both flybarless and F3C versions.

One great feature of the 3X Pro that sets it apart from other 3 axis gimbals is it's ability to easily convert to a telescoping mast or tripod gimbal.
By inverting the gimbal and using our Mast Adapter or screwing it onto a tripod it can be used as a ground based camera gimbal making it an effective tool for ground based use as well.
We make Mast Adapters to slip over various diameters of poles/masts from 25-40mm.

The 3X Pro is mounted with a 1/4" vertical bolt. For tripod use it's a simple matter of finding an approriate length 1/4-20 bolt, placing it through the 3X Pro and threading into a tripod which has a female 1/4-20 thread.
We also offer custom Mast Adapters which allow the 3X Pro to slip over various diameters of mast tubing (20-45mm).

We searched for months to find an rc servo that works well in 360 degree mode, low backlash, strong neutral pulse width holding torque. We now have it in the Spektrum H6040 servo.
The Spektrum H6040 has all metal gears. Ball bearing supported output shaft. Torque is 3x stronger than the standard 3X servo and speed is 2x faster.
Upgrade cost to substitute all three servos for the Spektrum H6040 on a 3X Pro is $319.95 USD.
