Ready to Fly HexaKopters & OctoKopters

Multicopters have recently become popular among photographers and videographers who have limited RC aircraft flying experience. A Multicopter is easy to learn to fly. Most people with no experience at all can learn to operate them safely within a few weeks of practice. It is still advisable to learn to fly a Multicopter first by using a flight simulator such as
Real Flight G5.

PhotoShip One is now offering fully assembled and test flown Multicopters (Hexa & Octo. HD Quad soon). Prices for ready to fly Multicopters range from about $3,000 up to $10,000 depending on options. Available options include GPS waypoint navigation, 900mhz or 2.4ghz telemetry, video downlink, ground base station system, batteries, chargers, etc.

Currently there are two versions available. The Hexakopter and the Octokopter. Both use the proven flight control and GPS navigation system from MikroKopter. With the optional GPS navigation system these Multicopters are able to fly hands off and maintain a lateral position and altitude hold accurate to about 1 meter in low wind conditions (less than approx. 5 mph) or about 2.5 meters in high winds (above 10 mph). Also with the GPS navigation system they are able to return to the home position and autoland completely autonomously (with proper setup and configuration). No other VTOL (vertical take off and landing) RC aircraft can offer such safety features at the same price.

The Multicopters come with the open source Mikrokopter Tool software by Mikrokopter. This software allows for many adjustments to gyro stability, camera stabilization, GPS navigation (if equipped) and more. The software is easy to use and understand. Currently MikroKopter Tool is available for Windows PC systems only and can be downloaded here.

The Hexakopter can carry a camera up to 450 grams in weight. The Octokopter can carry a camera up to 800 grams in weight. Both use the same 2 axis camera gimbal designed by PhotoShip One. The camera gimbals are able to fit a camera as large in size as the Canon T2i/550D however only the Octokopter would be recommended in carrying that particular camera.
Near the end of June we will have our own design HD Quad capable of carrying cameras up to 2kg in weight (Canon 5D mkII). The HD Quad will utilize the same Mikrokopter flight control and navigation system as the Hexa and Ocotkopters.
At this time pricing information for Multicopters is by request only. Please feel free to contact us for a price quote.

Lead time from time a 70% deposit is made until the time of shipment is approximately 5 weeks. (dependent on availability of MikroKopter flight control and navigation systems from MikroKopter in Germany)
